As Prometric test centers reopen following coronavirus-related closures, Knopman Marks is offering free review sessions to help candidates – even those not preparing with Knopman Marks – brush up on the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 Exams. Anyone who needs to pass one of these exams is welcome to attend these interactive sessions this summer.

“We know it can be challenging to keep the material fresh if you’ve been waiting to schedule an exam,” says Dave Meshkov. “We’re offering this chance to review key concepts so candidates can feel confident and bring their A game.”

The live-streaming review sessions invite students to ask questions and participate in polls that gauge their understanding of the material. These sessions are especially helpful for students experiencing a waiting period between a training session and the taking of their exam. Those who have done at least some prior preparation will benefit the most. However, even someone who has not started studying will benefit from the useful advice provided and seeing how the instructor approaches the sample questions, Meshkov notes.

A list of when each Prometric test center is expected to resume operations can be found here. To address any impact on exam candidates from test center capacity issues, FINRA is extending enrollment windows that have expired, or will expire, between March 16 and August 2020. Each FINRA-administered exam enrollment end date will be extended through the same end date of August 31, 2020. This accommodation will allow FINRA to distribute the current demand for test administrations over several months.

SIE Snapshot: The Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam is a new introductory-level FINRA exam for prospective securities industry professionals. To become registered to engage in securities business, an individual must pass the SIE and a qualification exam appropriate for the type of business in which the individual will engage.

Series 7 Snapshot: The Series 7 Exam — the General Securities Representative Qualification Examination (GS) — assesses the competency of an entry-level registered representative to perform their job as a general securities representative. Candidates must pass the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam and the Series 7 Top-Off Exam to obtain the General Securities Representative registration.

Series 66 Snapshot: The Series 66 Exam — the NASAA Uniform Combined State Law Examination — administered by FINRA, combines the Series 63 with the Series 65 Exam. For the Series 66 Exam, the Series 7 Examination is a co-requisite.
