How Study Games Help You Prepare for Your Licensing Exam

Study games help licensing exam candidates remember more by making them recall terms and concepts instead of rereading them. Short games also make it easier to fit in extra review. Knopman Marks’ Game Center, included in Platinum and Diamond packages, offers seven games built from course flashcards and practice questions for FINRA and NASAA exams.
What Is Game Center
Game Center is a section of the Knopman Marks learning platform with seven quick games built from your course content. Each round takes a few minutes, so it fits into a commute, a lunch break or the end of a long day.
Six games use the flashcards provided in your course: Card Picker, Card Hunter I, Card Hunter II, Card Coupler, Card Sweeper and Crossword. The seventh, Sudden Death, uses practice questions.
Card Picker and Card Hunter I are available on mobile. All seven games are available on desktop.

Why short games help you remember
Rereading notes feels productive, but it mostly builds familiarity. Exam questions ask you to recognize a rule or concept inside a scenario you have not seen before. That takes recall, not familiarity.
Games make you pull the answer from memory every round. Because each round is short, it is also easier to review a little every day instead of cramming. Small, frequent review sessions are one of the most reliable ways to keep content in memory through exam day.

How to fit study games into your plan
Games work best as a short daily habit alongside your core study, not as a replacement for it.
- Learn new material first. Work through the week’s chapters or live classes before you play games on that content.
- Play 10 to 15 minutes a day. Use the mobile games during short gaps in your day.
- Revisit earlier chapters. Play games on last week’s content too, not only the newest material.
- Use Sudden Death to check what you can apply. It draws on practice questions, so it shows whether you can use a concept, not only define it.
- Finish the week with a practice exam. Note which topics you miss and play games on those next week.
Add Game Center to your study plan
In our Game Center pilot, more than 3,000 students played. Compared with students who did not play, they practiced more, logged in more often and improved their scores faster.
“Sudden Death has helped so much with active recall, and it makes remembering the content much easier.”
– Knopman Marks student
Game Center gives you a faster way to review every day, built from the same content your exam tests. It is included in every Platinum and Diamond package, along with unlimited live faculty classes, KM Copilot, and additional review videos, flashcards, and workbook.
If you are enrolling for the first time, choose Platinum or Diamond to get Game Center from day one. If you are already studying with Gold, you can upgrade from the exam product page and start playing as soon as the upgrade is complete.
